Jewelweed is the anecdote for Poison Ivy. A lot of times, you can actually find Jewelweed growing in the vicinity of poison ivy, in ditches, edges of swampy areas, banks of rivers. Please don't attempt to harvest it yourself unless you are sure its Jewelweed. I'm not sure if there are look a likes, but please be careful and do your research before you do anything.
Jewelweed Salve is made with oils that have been infused for weeks with dried Jewelweed, sometimes even foraged and harvested from my own back yard! After infusing the Jewelweed in a cool dark place for 8 weeks, I transfer it to a crock pot on the lowest setting for 24 hours to really get all of those beneficial properties and juices out of the plant.
